BlockBar: Blockchain-Authenticated Spirits Auctions

BlockBar is a blockchain-authenticated auction platform for direct, secure trading of premium spirits and wines, ensuring absolute authenticity straight from the producers.
My primary objective was to create a detailed MVP prototype using Figma, dividing work into 6 week long sprints, following Lean UX principles. I worked in a cross-functional team, emphasizing rapid prototyping and continuous feedback between team members and stakeholders, with a focus on delivering value and ROI to the client. This iterative approach minimized waste, allowed us to adapt quickly to changing requirements, and ensured a user-centric solution.

— Conducted detailed competitive analysis to inform strategic design choices.
— Used lean UX approach to design and prototype a mobile and web MVP in six weeks.
— Collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment and timely delivery.

$7 Million Sales Milestones
In its first year, BlockBar achieved sales of $7 million, and by the second year, it was expected to reach sales of $25 million.
Explosive User Growth
The platform quickly gained popularity, amassing over 300,000 users in its initial rollout.
Partnerships with Major Brands
BlockBar has successfully partnered with some of the world's biggest wine and spirits brands, such as 1800 Tequila, Ardbeg Fon Fhòid, Patrón Tequila, and Glenfiddich.

For instance, 15 NFTs for a 46-year-old Glenfiddich whisky sold in four seconds, while a $18,000, four-decade-old Glenfiddich single malt was issued as an NFT. A Hennessy 8 cognac NFT sold for 70.47 Ethereum, or around $226,450.
Personas
Sketches
For BlockBar's visually impactful screens, I explored numerous ideas through sketching and collaborative 'crazy 8' exercises with my team. This process generated a wide variety of concepts, from which we selected the most compelling design. The design was then refined into detailed wireframes and mockups.
Wireframes
For most of BlockBar's pages, we utilized Figma to create wireframes, employing reusable components for rapid iteration on the less visually complex screens. This method streamlined the design process, allowing for efficient refinement and evolution of the user interface while maintaining a focus on functionality and aesthetic balance.
Hi-Fidelity Screens and protypes
In crafting BlockBar's high-fidelity mockups, I combined luxury with modern minimalism, employing soft edges and smooth animations for a premium user experience. The chosen color palette, typography, and imagery reflect the exclusivity of the high-end spirits market.

A crucial aspect of the design involved the strategic implementation of animations and nuanced transitions, enhancing the overall sense of luxury and sophistication.
